Facilities may already have contingency plans that meet the requirements of this IFC in their existing Emergency Preparedness policies and procedures. We note that the concept of a “primary series” is commonly understood with respect to vaccinations, particularly among health care professionals as well as the providers and suppliers regulated by this rule. Based on these and other factors, the demand for ASC services has increased. Based on current CDC guidance, individuals are considered fully vaccinated for COVID days after receipt of either a single-dose vaccine (Janssen/Johnson & Johnson) or the second dose of a two-dose primary vaccination series (Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty or Moderna).
